Sugar in fruit?

There is an opinion that fruits contain the same sugar as industrial sweets. On the one hand, this is true: the formula of carbohydrates, in particular glucose and fructose, is the same everywhere. But there is one thing - in fruits, this sugar is naturally enclosed in billions of living cells. In addition to sugar, there are many useful substances, and most importantly, all this is in water, which is vital for our body.

Table sugar is pure crystalline sucrose (a molecule of glucose + fructose). Its danger is that such a concentrated substance is easy to consume in excess, which is what people regularly do. With fruits, this is much more difficult, because 90% of their composition is water.

But sugar is not evil, but the best source of energy, for which the metabolism of most living beings on Earth is tailored. Having understood biology, you will never fall for keto diets and similar misconceptions again.

The problem is not that people eat sugar by the spoonful (such consumption would be too boring), but that sugar is most often consumed in buns, cakes and sweets with a kilometer-long list of ingredients. In such products, the percentage of carbohydrates is almost equal to the percentage of fat. However, many miss this point and blame sugar for all the troubles. Although it is fat that blocks the flow of sugar into cells - and this is the worst thing, because such a process leads to diabetes and many other health problems. This applies not only to sweets, but to all industrial food.

Therefore, there is nothing better than whole plant food. The body will never adapt to the normal absorption of industrial "food". And the quintessence of whole plant food is fruit - pure solar energy (glucose), created by nature especially for us. 🍎☀️
