About me
What are your hobbies? How do you like to spend your time?
Gardening, dancing, drawing, sewing, hiking and walking, researching about fruit and fruit diets and Natural Hygiene, wildlife and Natural History.
What field do you currently work in, and what do you do?
I work in health education and horticulture.
Do you subscribe to the philosophy of fruitarianism, even if your diet currently consists of more than just fruit?
Yes
What type of diet do you currently follow, and do you drink water?
Fruitarian Diet.
Since what year/month have you been following this type of diet?
1991
What led you to this way of eating? What inspired you?
I was a vegan for ethical reasons, and it really improved my physical health as an unexpected bonus. From that moment on, I was interested in learning more about how diet affects our health. I tried various types of vegan diet before going to a meeting where the speaker was a fruitarian. His great wellness and energy inspired me to give the fruit diet a go; and I have never looked back.
And what continues to inspire you now?
Being able to bounce out of bed each morning, having no aches and pains, and being able to physically do all I want to do without impairment.
What challenges did you face along the way?
I wouldn't say anything major at all.
Since changing your diet, what has changed in your life—in how you feel about yourself, in your personal circle, socially, and at work?
I felt much more connected with nature and music and more joyous and less attracted to material possessions.
What has changed—what has gotten better or worse? How did you feel physically before, and how do you feel now?
Better digestion, greater energy, better recovery from exercise, improved immune system. Before I would often feel groggy and hungover in the morning.
How did the transition to a fruit-based diet go at the very beginning? What kind of diet were you on before you decided to become a fruitarian? Did it happen all at once, or was it a gradual process?
I was on a wholefood , high organic vegan diet, prior to adopting a fruit diet. I did a transitional diet of 12-14 months; gradually eating more and more fruit and less and less cooked vegan foods.
